    Jen Merchant

    Jen has always been involved with music, singing and performing arts throughout her life. She studied for a degree in Creative and Performing Arts at The University of Portsmouth, graduating in 2010 and has gone on to gig professionally ever since.

    Whilst Jen has a very varied music taste, her real passion for singing is jazz/ swing and soul/ motown and this is what she performs most of in her sets (along with rock n roll and classic and contemporary pop). She has a real love for vintage and retro styles but can also perform modern songs too. For the festive season, Jen has plenty of Christmas songs, it’s her favourite time of the year! Jen also has a specialist ‘Great Gatsby Show’ (see below for more details).

    Jen can either perform easy listening background music, perfect for wedding breakfasts, cocktail parties and black tie dinners etc. or songs to really get people on the dance floor and get the party going, or of course a mix of both.

    Jen’s experience as a singer includes performing at some notable prestigious venues including The Royal Albert Hall, Guildford Cathedral, New Theatre Royal Portsmouth, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), Portsmouth Guildhall and many prestigious hotels amongst many more venues. She has developed a talent for performing which extends beyond her singing and never fails to delight and engage her audiences.

    Jen provides a PA system with all her gigs. Jen can also be booked as part of a discount, joint package with her other half, Sean, who is a DJ for the full party package. Jen can also book booked alongside a pianist and as part of a duo with a male vocalist, Terry Saunders.

    Jen is based on the Surrey/ Hampshire boarder but is happy to travel to all surrounding counties and areas (Berkshire, West Sussex, Middlesex, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Kent, Dorset etc and beyond: Travel expenses may apply for travelling further than 40 miles).

    Claire Manners

    With over 28 years of experience in live performance and a wide repertoire of pop, soul, jazz and dance music. Claire can offer a professional and friendly service.

    Claire studied music at Poole College and subsequently Chichester College of Arts, Science and Technology specialising in popular music.

    Since then she has performed at hundreds of weddings and private functions both locally and nationally and have played alongside DJ sets in nightclubs and at corporate events. Claire has also performed with many bands and also orchestras for musicals. With experience performing abroad in Koh Samui Thailand, Taiwan and Europe.

    Some previous clients include: The Royal Navy, AFC Bournemouth, Cirque du Soleil, British Telecom, Habitat UK, Lloyds Bank, Bournemouth Tourism Awards and Martin & Co.

    In November 2016 Claire won the Dorset Wedding Supplier Award for Live Musical Entertainment having also been a finalist in 2014, 2015 and since then in 2017.Currently performing as a solo act with professionally recorded high quality backing tracks. With this Claire uses a small Bose PA system and can set up equipment to create a background atmosphere for drinks receptions, through a wedding breakfast or an evening function. Claire also have an up-tempo set for more of a party atmosphere and can provide a larger PA system and lighting if required.

    Claire can also play alongside a DJ or offer a package with a DJ for the evening.
