Male – Female Duo

For the two singers of In The Mix, it actually began some time ago. But their combined performing experience now totals forty years so in many respects the proverb is actually true.

Debs and John have decided that the time is right to bring their mixed up blend of fun, frolics and vocal talents into the public domain as a proper act and pimp themselves out to highest bidder. The music on offers covers all eras from the 1950s onwards and most genres (we don’t do thrash metal or death metal; we don’t do gansta garage (c)rap hippy hoppy housey mousey nonsense either). What we do is proper music with structured accompaniment and a melody you can make out. We don’t care when it comes from or who it comes from, if it is good and if it can stoke a party, we’ll give it a try. And we like to do lots off it.

Everything is underscored with a sense of fun and audience inclusion. Come listen to the banter bouncing between us (no domestics but we do have a good laugh at each other’s expense and it’s yours to watch at no extra charge). We want the audience to feel part of what we are doing and we want them to enjoy some of the, how shall we put it, close to the bone, humour that spews from the mouth of the one in the kilt. We want a party atmosphere, we want people to relax, to dance, to sing, to tap their feet, to slap their thighs, to make idiots of themselves by over exersion on the dance floor.

Duo

Backbeat Duo – Dave Lloyd & Sam Lloyd

Catering for a range of different audiences and venues, Backbeat’s play list ranges from Elvis Presley to Kasabian, The Rolling Stones to Supergrass, The Beatles to ELO, Little Walter to The Killers, etc. They play pop, rock, blues, soul, Motown, jive, Rock & Roll and ballads. Dave has been playing in duo’s since 1988 and was the founding force behind BackBeat which was formed in 1996 playing keyboards and vocals. Since June 2014 Dave has now been joined by his son Sam Lloyd on lead guitar.

Male Vocal Duo

We are a male duo, who have been singing together for over 10 years. Songs ranging from the 50s to modern day (all on backing tracks). We do various costume changes throughout our act, introducing the likes of Elvis, Elton John, and Buddy Holly. We like to have fun, so jokes and messing around are a big part of our evening, with lots of audience participation.

We also include a disco in our act between and after sets so that there are no moments of silence throughout the event.
