Singer, Marie Haywood, was raised in a musical family. Over the years Marie has developed her own unique style and has shared a stage and performed with numerous renowned artists including; Robert Hart (international singer songwriter from Bad Company, The Distance, the Jones Gang, Manfred Mann’s Earthband and Diesel), Bernie Marsden (English rock and blues guitarist – primarily known for his work with Whitesnake having written or co-written with David Coverdale many of the group’s hit songs, such as “Here I Go Again”), Cherry Lee Mewis (British blues singer singer songwriter) and Jim Kirkpatrick (singer, songwriter and guitarist of British rock bands FM and Diesel). A true professional Marie can cover many genres of music with ease from jazz standards, soul, funk and blues to rock, pop and country and has performed extensively both here in the UK and overseas.
Saxophonist, Wendy Allen, a self-taught sax player, has played for many years both on the semi and professional circuits. She has directed her own 9 piece function band ‘Night Creatures’ and currently performs regularly with her jazz fusion band ‘Spiral’ (www.spiraljazz.co.uk). Wendy has also performed with the famous 70s group ‘Odyssey’ as well as the band Apart From Rod featuring 3 of Rod Stewart’s original band members – Jim Cregan, Robin LeMesurier and Gary Grainger. A consummate professional, she is regarded as one of the finest female saxophonist’s in the UK.
Together they have been gigging in the UK and abroad for many years constantly adding to their varied repertoire of over 400 songs, ranging from the 1940’s to current day chart hits. SAXuality pride themselves on their versatility and specialise in tailoring their music to each occasion, the venue and the audience with a blend of sassy sax and soulful vocals so if it’s laid back grooves you want or just to dance the night away, then SAXuality is the perfect duo for your event.
